What's everyone think about Yamaha's new frame mounted fairing and hard bag touring machine? Star's take on the Street Glide concept.

I have a Roadliner. I really like it. The Stratoliner is similar to what you describe, comes with windowshield, rear rest, and hard bags. I like the stripped down look so I bought the base model, same bike, and added the stuff I wanted. Plus I wanted it in white because the strat only came in black. As big cruisers go, I have not had a single problem with my bike in 2 years. Regualar oil changes and a minor cable recall. I am not sure if that helps but the point is that their cruiser line rocks. Very smooth ride. Great acceleration. And when the lady is on the back you can't tell she is there, other than those wandering hands.

I really like this bike. I think it's a bit overpriced considering its lack of equipment and their resale un-value. If they discount them heavily like they do the Strats this could definitely be a BEST BUY. This bike and the Vic Cross Country are going to be some heavy competion to HD. I really want an HD or a Vic, problem being is they will turn an $18k bike into well over $20k by the time they get thru adding in all their BS. Star/Yamaha on the other hand will discount off of MSRP heavily.

Hi. I got a good look at one today. I like them but I think the price may cause some to run. I did ride a Roadliner today on a test drive. I had never ridden one before. It is probably the smoothest bike I've ever ridden. Very well balanced and comfortable to ride. I really like them. Not ready to give up my Sporty yet though.....but if I did it is hard to beat the value they offer.
