I need new rear shocks and the more I read the more I am not sure. Will progessive 444 give me a quality ride and control or do I need to go to Ohlins. I keep reading the Ohlins are more for racing and thats why they are more expensive
I hear you on the price. Haven't called yet but I expect to have some sticker shock when I hear the figure...I've installed Ohlins for a customer on three of his bikes. Amazing shocks, Howard was super helpful. For me, however, I can't justify the price.
It's all an illusion Capt'n... :wacko:Yeah, but you rich. Hundred bucks to you is like 10 to me.?
WPC, I'm interested to know what style shock and for what bike.. And who did you contact. Any info would be appreciated.Got my $572 Ohlins in 4 days from Italy installed yesterday. Test drove last night. Over the top ride. It’s a different motorcycle. I hated to spend the bread but the end result was worth it. My gal and I are taking off for a couple of thousand miles this week and I can’t wait to feel the diff rolling the backroads fully loaded.
After winter here the frost heaves seem to be at their worst. Eventually they settle down a bit.. hopefully.South Louisiana roads are notorious for bumps of all sizes. You can avoid some on a scooter, but it's impossible to miss all.
I'm just here for the beer.
I don't recall seeing any for softails when i was looking.Do they make a shock for softails?
Which Olhins did you go with? Just curious..I put Ohlins on the rear of my 2013 FLHX and love them...but they were expensive and I don't know if Progressive would have done the job equally well. All I know is you cannot go wrong with Ohlins, they preset the specs and they are easy to adjust as needed.
