Ol Rob Givemefuel and anyone else interested. I cut an paste my story from another site. I hope it is useful information. The 180 won't work!

Harley Hog was right with that 180 tire kit. Now I know why the hardware was so costly. I had a 180 installed on my rim today and the installer noticed the edge of the belt pulley was closer to the rim then the edge of the tire. The clerk then went to the SE book and noticed a required spacer to push it out a little. If the spacer was applied the belt would hit the upper and lower belt covers. Take them off and they probably would hit the swingarm. Also, applying the spacer would require a wider swing arm, yada, yada, yada. Told them to put on a 160 tire and I was done. I hope this parts index posts. Look at all the parts that need to be replaced.

Fourhour;
My 180X18 was a bolt on. Used all stock spacers, but the wheel hub has special offset. If you decide to get custom wheels later letme know I can give you the contact info.

Fourhour, I really like the color of your Deuce.
But what is that round piece of wood under your scoot?
Don't tell me that's a turntable of some sort! Are you
kidding? That is so awesome! Drive in, turn, and drive out?

How much are they asking for the wide tire kit with the swingarm?
Sit down and hold on!

Chrome wide swingarm- $550

Hope you can do it yourself!

Damn....looks too good .... now ya can't ride it...
Came real close to riding it today but there was just a little more sand, ice and meltdown on the road than I felt like dealing with.

Thanks for the kind remarks though! :Dennis

fourhour.....let me know what you think of those pipes after you get it out on the road. I put Side Shots on my bike 2 months ago, buy unable to ride it because of ice, snow, salt, subzero WINTER! I did fire it up after I installed them and think they sound much, much better (to my ear) than the Big Shot- Longs that I replaced. I thought the longs sounded "tubie/hollow". Also like the sound better than the Staggereds. Can't wait to hear them under power.

Fourhour,

Love that swingarm!!! Never thought of 2-tone (chrome and paint). Very sharp looking!!! Thanks for the idea!!!!!!!
Simple check in the mail would suffice! Not a terribly difficult thing to do if you can turn a wrench and know how to read. Get the service manual, take off the swing arm, buy a pint of matching paint and paint it. Add some chrome doohickeys, available at your friendly dealer for a small chunk of your retirement fund and viou-la, you got yourself a custom motorsickle! And you did it yersef!

streetrod, Can't tell when it will make it out on the road but I damn sure will be on it at the very first chance. I can't wait to hear it outside the garage too!

Here's one from the left. Probably should have gotten closer for better clarity.
