Takes 3 things to run.

1) Fuel
2) Air
3) Ignition.

Has to be somewhere in there. Now start trouble shooting.

Won’t start or won’t turn over.

 

It wont turn over the Fireball Hi-4E just clicks when I try to start.

 

If it won't turn over, you need to trouble shoot the starter system, not the ignition.

 

If it won't turn over, at the very least, check ALL fuses.

 

This is the box/fuse that clicks when I try to start. Do I replace? What fuse is this?

 

That's the starter relay.

Get a volt/ohm meter and start trouble shooting. If you're not sure of what you're doing, find someone who does.

generally if a bike started fine,, you washed it an now its dead,,, you got something wet,, that wasnt supposed to be wet,, when jt dries it will most likely start..

 

the circled part is starter relay M923006. youtube "test relay". if that is your problem, the part is not expensive. A few members on another harley forum have said The official HD # is 31504-91a (kfnsme) & The relay from the auto parts store will work fine. Get the relay with the internal diode, usually has a yellow bottom (schmidty)

 

I dont have a mechanic in my area should I just replace it? Any other advice?

 

why not. if you find yours is good you'll have an extra relay laying around to use on some other mod like aux lights

 

I just recently was busy about the starter relay, on page 2 if you scroll down was explained how you can bypass
the relay to check if it is the troubleshooter or not : Unplanned `88 FXR !

 

Auto parts store relays will work but wont last unless you get the 30 or 40 amp relay.

I assume you're asking what is making that clicking sound?
Is it from the primary or crankcase? Do you hear it better on one side or another? Get an icepick.. er... screwdriver and listen with it touching different areas.
