Seems way to good to be true? But if it is true I want one.

Tired of dealing with maps every time you make a change to your bike? There is now another option to take the hassle out of tuning. The new Cobra PowrPro auto-tuner will automatically adjust the settings. Read more in the press release below, then head over to the Cobra site for more information about the PowrPro Tuner.

Cobra Engineering has just introduced the new Fi2000® PowrPro Tuner to the motorcycle market. The Fi2000 fuel-injection tuner uses the latest smart chip technology to continuously read the bike’s EFI delivery at more than 80 times per second every time the throttle is opened to optimize the air/fuel mixture at all throttle settings. With its Continuously Variable Tuning (CVT) (patent pending) technology, the Fi2000 PowrPro is set to revolutionize motorcycle fuel-injection tuning.

Your link took me to their page for an '04 dresser. I read all the stuff they had to say about their product and thought "That sounds good but, how does it work?" They mention getting crank readings, load and such but didn't really describe "how it works". Then I went to their page for my bike ('05 Dyna) and read this "Pre-configured from the factory for your bike and model, but easy to adjust should your specific application need it. " Sounds like a lot of other tuners out there. I don't know how it can be self adjusting if it can't monitor the A/F ratio. maybe it does have a way to monitor it but, there isn't any mention of it which is why I wanted to know "how it works".

After reading the info on this, it seems to be similar to the old harley Race fueler.

I am sure it works to a point, but if it's not reading the exhaust stream i would think it would over fuel to prevent overheating.

For the same money you can get a Vance and Hines Fuelpak, it is easy to install, and the fuel programs that you tap in are all done for a bike with your exhaust, engine and all that, it is set up on there dynos at V&H, and it really does work great.

That, and there support is second to none.

You can't beat the Zipper Thunder Max with Auto Tune. Monitors the bike, adjusts and allows adjustments if you want different. reliable and easy to use. Support is there. Yes you have to have a computer/lap top but it brings a smile to my face everytime I hook up with the bike and watch it adjust, monitor and suggest changes. and the performance is there on the street and Dyno!

I got the following reply from Cobra when I asked if the PowerPro uses the O2 sensors ;

the comment about "no O2 sensor hassles" is refering to the need to weld a
bung into your exhaust pipe to accept a wide band O2 sensor. All other
autotune products require a different O2 sensor than your bike comes with.
Our system incorporates the stock O2 sensor (no welding, drilling or
tapping) and provides it with an offset signal to slightly change the
CRUISE fuel AFR. Stock O2 sensors are strictly an emmissions based sensor
designed to function in steady throttle, cruise operation. We adjusted it
to obtain cooler running, and smoothest r.p.m.

Narrow band limits

Yes you are correct,"not all systems use wide band" But there lies there limit. unless you have an external wideband monitor. you are tuning to 14.7 which is great for gas mileage and cruising with the narrow band O2 sensors. The minute you tune below 14.5 the systems go to open loop. and yes you can tune TTS with out the O2 sensors on line but you need some kind of monitors to confirm you are tuning in the right area and ratio. Then there is the 4 gas analyzer...but I have not had the pleasure tuning with that!

I just build a 124 for my 2009 flhx i had a tmax with auto-tune allready on the bike from when the bike was stock. And lets just say it was the bigest piece of junk i have ever had. After i installed the new motor after building it this winter i went to start for the fist time and nothing. The module was bad. How whos knows. Zippers did replace with a used shop module. That one did runs the bike soso. After setting a base tune and riding for a short time the bike starting running worse that before. Long story short the auto tune feature was removing fuel on its own. No setting would keep it were it needed to be. After a week of dealing with Zippers they did refund my money. I recently purchaced TTM master tune to replace the tmax. Man im inpressed with the bike now. It has never ran this stong and cool and responsive ever. The ease of using the TTS is pretty much straight foward. Do what they say and u will fall in love. Future dyno numbers to come

Sorry to burst your bubble, but a traveler came through Charleston on the way to Myrtle Beach with a running issue. Bike just started to run bad and throwing codes. He notified the HD dealer he had TTS and supplied the Box. Rear injector kept failing. traced wires, sub a new injector, finally came down to the ECM...replaced. Any thing can fail. I still believe in Wide Band O2 sensors over Narrow band or none.

Im running bassani new B1 pipe. The issue was u could set the perameters to 13.3 run down the road come back and the module would have taken fuel out of the map and the bike would be running anywere from 13.5-14.8. We tryed setting everything between 12.8 - 13.8 nothing made the bike run without pining. Dont get me wrong this motor should make 150hp-150tq with ease. But for Zippers to say they have never had a customer need to or want to run a tbw bike with the auto-tune off is hard to believe. A failure can happen at any time but a module that will not run with in the perameters that are set in it is junk, and can cause many more issues then most people would like to deal with. Any good tuner is going to use there own monitor for afr values to properly tune the bike. But its safe to say the factory harley ecm is tryed and true versus the tmax ecm. Remember TTS probaly has more time invested in the factory ecm than harley does, they did built the sert for harley.

Your Point brought up a question, If you have a full Zipper package and your out of town, and the ECM fails what do you do? Most dealers are not going to have a Zipper ECM on the shelf. your pipes have the wide band o2 sensors...and a map to fit your modifications....so a dealer would have a stock ECM. stock O2 sensors and a factory download to get you limping home? Has anyone had this happen and did Zippers send an ECM next day air to get a customer on the road?

Honesty from the guys that i have met and talked to that have had an issue with tmax's either do one of two things. Have a spare tmax module with them at all times with the same map or just cross there fingers that nothing happens. The shop that builds my motors and tunes my bike is very in touch with zippers and have done base map builds for them and when my module went bad zippers said that they needed the old one before they would send out a replacment one or i would have to purchace and completly new setup and go that route. Either way the customer service is lacking in a big way. If u run a TTS and something happens the local dealer should have a ecm on the shelf and they have the cables and software to help u out. So u might want to think about this before u pick a tuner.

Remember i have had two complete failures of a tmax ecm im just glad they happened at the shop and not on the road.
