Chatter in front end

Hi folks, posted this once months ago, but thought I'd try it again to see if any new opinions may be out there. Bike is a 2009 Dyna Super Glide with no mechanical mods. The front end gives off a "Chatter" some times while coming to a stop. It is definitely coming from the front fork area. It was once suggested that this may be a symptom of the motor vibration transferring to the front end. I had already considered that, but was somewhat skeptical. So I go down the street as usual and stop the bike and theres the chatter. Next time I go down the street I shut off the motor before stopping and guess what....no chatter. So I'm not saying that the chatter is a vibration in the motor, but the chatter is appearently caused by the motor vibration being transferred to the front fork. It is significantly worse when the motor has just been started and still under somewhat of a fast idle. Anyone else have this issue ?? Everything else seems to check out....front brakes....steering head....etc.

I know the feeling. I eventually noticed that the frequency of the chatter matches the engine speed. I believe that the front fork compression is allowing the vibration to pass through the front end. The mass of the engine pushing against the front mount isn't helping.

Interesting this should come up. My Super Glide has been doing this for about a year and I still haven't pinned it down. I'm close to putting it on the lift and see if I can find anything loose. I was thinking maybe adjusting the fall away, but then thought that if things are loose enough to cause a chatter I should see it in the handling.

I believe in my case that the noise is coming from the inside of the fork. I can duplicate the noise by rocking the forks up and down while sitting on it and holding the front brake on. Of course the noise doesn't "chatter" as fast. It actually makes the noise once each time the fork is compressed. Of course while ridding, the motor shaking would be causing the multiple chatter. There has to be something internally inside the forks that is causing this. Maybe someone else can try the test of holding on the brake and rocking it to see if they get the same results. I'm just glad I'm not the only one hearing this. Really not a big deal I guess, probably not a safety issue, just one of those really annoying things.

I rocked my forks last night. There was a sound that may have been valves closing.
There is definitely some resonance involved. If the front mount is compressed and the fender is resonating... It only occurs when I'm hard on the front brake with little or no back brake. Also, only at the end of the braking. Nothing at high speeds. Never noticed it during panic stops. Too busy with other things.
