A little Disappointed

Last month I purchased a 2005 Road King Classic with 21K. Given this is the 3rd Harley I've owned I opted for the 5 year extended warranty and I'm glad I did. Today I took it to a dealer closer to me (Not the one I bought it from) to have the following fixed:
Severe Crack in the the Exhaust Manifold at the y joint
Rear cylinder rocker box leak
shift shaft seal leak
front brake master cylinder leak
And I figured since it was there they might as well inspect the cam tensioners. Now all of these repairs are all standard Harley ailments that are common so I'm not that upset. I am a little disappointed in the dealer inspection they claim to have done prior to selling this bike to me. I may call my salesman (good guy to be honest) and let him know, but Im glad it's winter time to where I don't mind it living in the shop for now.

Those are not shockers any exhaust can crack and a seal and a gasket could start leaking any time especially on a 10 year old bike, don't think I would be too pissed at the dealer, but if you don't tell them about the issues, then it is on you to just suck it up and deal with it, none of that is a major equipment failure as well

All common failures but more than the salesman I would question the integrity of the service department you purchased the bike from. And I am not saying calling any place out as no good can come of it but chalk it up to a lesson learned.

I have a bunch of dealerships within a hundred miles of me and I would not buy a used bike nor have one serviced at the nearest one for nothing. They never stock parts I need and the stories I have heard about the service department is enough to make my skin crawl.

I would wonder about the M/C leak...was there a front end "Oops" ?

Maybe take a look behind the head lite.

Nah it's a pretty standard problem with a lot of Harleys....actually all of the issues pointed out are pretty standard, I just feel that the bike wasn't gone through thoroughly before putting on the showroom.

To be honest I do like the dealership I bought it from and would have taken it straight back to them to deal with, but it is a real pain to schedule time to get to during the winter and about 30 miles away. The dealer I ended up taking it to for the repairs is also a very good dealership and only 5 miles from me so it just makes more sense.
I know sh*t happens so I'm not going to raise a big stink about it with the dealer I bought it from. It's just a little disheartening to have to deal with 4 repairs only a month from buying it.

The only repair I am kind of not excited about seeing is the shaft seal since it is such an intrusive repair for a little o-ring. I have winter in my favor though and the dealer isn't really overwhelmed with tons of repairs at the moment so hopefully they can spend a little extra time with it and give it some special attention. no worries it's all good.

I would not have bought it with it having those problems, and I would have told them to fix it before I would even think of buying it.

And they can take that extended warranty and shove it.

The dealers don't really inspect the bikes beyond a brake and light check. They sell an extended warranty (which they get a kick back on) to keep their customers from coming back on them. They get away with this because such a limited number of bikes get ridden more than 1000 miles a year, and or the owners don't know any better.
The Stealer doesn't make much margin on bike sales so they cant afford to rebuild each used bike that hits their floor (they don't) they don't buy bikes that are spilling oil or bent. Most bike owners are not savvy enough to do a bike inspection and it's hard to do that with an engorged member, many "trust" the dealer to do the right thing. The dealer makes most of their money in accessory sales and lifestyle merchandise. If they did not have to do warranty work they would not even have a service department (high overhead).

We had a Dyna with a leaky seal... decided to live with it instead of risking the "intrusive repair" and the after effects.
PJ1 Super-cleaner works great.

I thought very seriously about doing the same thing. None of the leaks I have are at a dripping point. They are all more or less "sweating", but I figured I might as well have them addressed since it was in for the exhaust crack. Now if my Primary turns to sh*t do to fixing the shaft seal issue then I'm going to be a little p*ssed.

Primary has to come off
