How do I check the transmission oil level in a 1980 Fat Bob 1340 Shovelhead?

I've searched all over Google and here but can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Bike needs to be straight up. Pull out over flow plug on side of "kicker" cover. Should get just a little oil wanting to come out.

Tech tip: I use the handle from of a gallon jug of milk to fashion a perfect funel into the tranny. Also, makes life a lot easier if you can make some sort of center stand that fits under the frame rails. I happen to have a cheap lift that a friend welded up for me.

I pulled the allen screw from the side of the transmission kick-starter. There was nothing. I opened the screw cap on top of the tranny and put almost a quart of 40wt oil in there until it started coming out of the inspection hole. I stopped pouring, put the inspection screw back in and the tranny fill cap back on. It's shifting much smoother now.

Thanks again for all the help.
