Shifter peg removal?

How do you take out the little peg on the shifter? I got new footpegs and the new shifter peg, and that's the only part I have left! I searched the manual, but there isn't anything in there on how to go about that. I don't want to force it either, the last thing I want to do is break something on my bike!

Thanks!

Try getting a good grip on it w/ your bare hand. It may not be on there as tight as you think. I switched out mine & can't recall it being overly tight.

It's ugly, you have a new upgrade to replace it, you can buy them for pennies on E-bay because everybody takes them off .

Get a big damn pipe wrench of whatever it takes and rip it up all you want and toss it in the garbage.

Don't give me the "I may want to take it back to stock" line...nobody ever does that.

I changed mine out for a billet peg to match the other stuff I put on.
The OEM peg had red LT on it and wouldn't budge with any kind of wrench. In fact, I broke the screw portion of the peg off in the lever.
I tried heating in and every thing I could think of and ended up buying a new lever. I made about $50 worth of mistakes on the attempt.
Having whined about it, yours very well may be easier to remove.

Got bored yesterday before going out for New Year's, so tackled it. Cut off the rubber, and just used my channel locks on it! Slowly but surely (about 10 minutes) it came off! I didn't even get to use my new propane torch I bought yesterday just for the peg! :(

Thanks all the the help everyone! :) Hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year!
