If they are HD cases, and not renumbered, below is what I think it is.

DJ FLHTC 1986 - present
L=1340 (EVO Big Twin)
L = 1990
Serial number = 509672

 

I just did a little deep dive into another forum. But came back with it saying it’s a 2005 FLHTC but with a 1340cc and from what I’ve read they came out with the 1450cc that year. So I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong lol. The only thing I know from just looking at it it’s an evolution forsure

 

There is no 1450cc EVO from Harley and they certainly didn't make any EVOs in 2005. A 1450cc would be a 88ci Twin-Cam, which came out in 1999 and was used until 2005.

I'm not sure what a "deep dive" means, but maybe you forgot to give the second "L" in the engine number so they used the "5" for the year.

The engine does not have a "VIN", it has an abbreviated version. The number plate in the picture you posted does not look like right. The plate should not be aligned with one of the cylinders. ///edit - apparently some of them are like that, my bad///

unfortunately without any solid information on it. Trying to start with what it is/ what size etc. if someone could please save me, I’ve tried every vin search. I’ve called s&s. And can not find any information. TIA

What did you get this engine for (as in what do you plan to do with it?)?

What about the appearance tells you for sure it is an EVO? I'm asking this because you called S&S which means you didn't even identify it as a Harley engine.

Did you buy the engine or did it land in your lap?

Are you planning to hang around and share with us wherever this goes, or just looking for this one bit of information?
