Anybody out there swapped a tapered bearing sportster wheel (looking at a 9 spoke mag.) on to a 2006 sportster front end ? I know that her sporty has sealed bearings , also would anybody know if the 9 spoke alum. mag wheel was ever produced with sealed bearings , because I was surfing EBAY and saw an add for a 19" 9 spoke with sealed bearings advertised. My local Indy out this way has lead me to believe that no such wheel has been produced, however if anybody has info ,knowledge ,experience ,parts numbers or advise on the smart way to do this swap I sure would be grateful. The general consensus (riding buddy's) is that her trike needs a spoke wheel (in chrome) to complement the crager s/s wheels. Thanks in advance, Dukcarvr

I just switched out a 13 spoke cast wheel for a 19 inch 9 spoke wheel on my 1998 Sportster.

As for folks not knowing much about the 9 spoke rims, I have only found one guy in a dealership that even remembered them. The wheels are now discountinued and so is the chrome center hubcap.

You can find the chrome hubcap on Ebay by searching for part #43718-99 96 and later Dyna/Sportster 13 spoke will be the use but it does also work on the 9 spoke as well.

As for fitting the newer models I don't have a clue. I was under the impression that they fit from 1996-2002 and then the wheels changed.

Thanks Karsten for the info, I suspect both wheels used taper bearings with 3/4" Id., also I have recorded chrome hub cap part # (didn"t know one existed) . Also looking for a reputable platting/polishing house to work ether a 9 spoke or 13 spoke cast wheel Dukcarvr
