I have an 05 fatboy and want to adjust the clutch. I have the service manual and understand the procedure, but would like to know if I need a special tool to do the adjustment (inside derby cover). Some say weld a nut on a socket, but I was wondering can I just do the adjustment with a wrench and hex. Thanks for your help.

Yes you can....I believe it's an 11/16. I did mine (FXDL) this past weekend using the manual...used a socket to "break" the nut free and then the hex for the adjustment..........piece of cake.

Srigas, You can take a pair of vise grips and clamp down on the socket. Then take a allen wrench and slide through the socket. When you get the adjustment where it needs to be. Take a hammer and wack the vise grip. Sort of shade tree but it will work. Booggerbe

I used a T handle hex and an open end 11/16 to tighten back up
Thats what I do too. You don't need to torque the nut down a bunch. Just snug.
