Did mine this year... 99 FLHTCUI-C (Carb :D ), best dang thing I've done to the bike. The Mirelli crap is exactly that... CRAP! I also did other upgrades. High compression 1550, gear drive cams, new pistons, T-man head work, Baker 6 spd... a long list of goodies!

But, yes, it can be done.

I'd trade.

I guess it could be done. I would trade the bike for a carb model and have done with it. Just too much money, IMHO and your resale would be problematical at best.

Dennis Kirk sells a kit to do it...it also includes the disc to drum brake conversion, electric to kick starter kit and the 12 to 6-volt electrical adapter. You can add the non-sealed wheel bearings for $125 extra.

I love it when the post matches the forum name so eloquently, Logical, indeed. What was your next choice? Spock, as in "NOT logical, Captain" :)

It's all good fun isn't it? I've found out that posting here is a bit like the election - even if you ask a serious question, you will get 51% help and 49% comical replies :)

Here is a tip, before you do an EFI/Carb, SYN/Dino, 88/88b, Dyna/Softail post, do a search first and read the results. Otherwise you can expect the above results
