An outfit out of Bellingham, WA called Mammoth Choppers is selling solo seats for late model FLST and the like. They make em in house. The seat looks good! It also looks like it could be comfortable but thats hard to tell in a picture.

Does anybody have any first hand experience or had any second hand opinions of the ridability of seats from this company?

Thanks.

My Seats

Hey Bud,

Just to reply to your message. The seats are great. I have to tell you that I love them becuase I designed them and tested them and did all the work associated with em. I guess thats the fun part of owning the company. Lets do this, buy the seat try it out. If you dont like it, return, I will pay for your shipping back to me. Im doing this so for you becuase Im new to the forum. Oh and just so you know this ahead of time, I designed them in-house, the seat is manufacturered in Thailand, from an actual tannery who dye their own hides and the foam is the same stuff that you would find in a Danny Grey seat. Closed cell High density foam. Its good stuff. Take Care and Ride the Beast!!!:chopper:

Mammoth,

I appreciate the offer. But, (ya knew that was comin) I already bought a new Saddlemen solo since I have thier Explorer seat and have good experience with em. It should be here Wednesday.

Anyway, I'll see how the Saddlemen solo works out and if I don't like it I'll get one of your solo seats. They do look good.

If yer shop is open to public, maybe I'll take a ride yer way. I'm just down in south east WA. Thanks again.

BTW, I did bid on a Pinstripe Solo on EBAY but lost out. Wasn't watchin close enough.:duh?:

2 up touring

Has any one tried the mommoth choppers 2 up touring seat on a softtail. How would you compair it to a sundowner. It sure looks better. I have a 05 FXSTI after a couple of hours on the bike I tend to get TB right about at the top of my rear pokets. What sould I look for in a seat to fix this problem?

I bought the 2 up "Sabre Flame." Matches my Danny Gray flame pattern on my "Butt Crack" solo almost exactly.

The Sabre 2-up is actually much more comfortable, (offers much more support to your back) than the DG solo, and allows me to ride longer with less frequent get off and walk stops.

Overall quality and workmanship is equal to the DG seat. Take the Mammoth lable off their seat and you couldn't tell it from any other fine quality saddle. I would personally, highly recommend the Sabre for 2-up bar hopping.

Passenger part of Sabre seat is not recommended for long distance riding by me and on the Mammoth website. They do offer larger more densely padded passenger pillion area 2-up seats that would better accommodate a passenger on longer rides.

Very good dollar value. Have spent some considerable time on Big Name competitor's saddles that weren't nearly as comfortable, at nearly twice the price!

Would recommend them to anyone. With a "No Risk Return Gurantee" from Mr. Mammoth himself, obviously he and his company stand behind and believe in their product.

FWIW......, No I don't work for them.

Hope this helps anyone considering a new seat purchase.

Ok guys, Sorry for the delay.

I forgot my password LOL. Things are hectic around here with all the new additions to my line of things and fighting legally with people who keep stealing my designs for my billet parts. Thats a story in itself. Thanks for the props for DLVR on my 2 up saber seat.
OK for the new scoop, I am designing a new solo seat for the 200mm rear tire!! Yes for all the 06 bikes and it should fit the 07's too. The way it works is that the seat is a solo, but it has a little mini pad to hold the seat to the back fender, thats really the best way to make the seat look good on that fat rear fender. Its gonna be out in about 3 months. I am working on a new pinstripe design and I will also have the good ol fashioned flame design.
Price will be between $209.95 and $239.95. But trust me, it'll be worth it.

Group buys, I consider a group buy 10 seats or more. I will give a killer deal on this purchase. All I ask is that you spread the word on my seats and look at my other cool billet stuff.

Next, I ride, and am working on purchasing the new 07 road king so I can design parts for the baggers!! Softails are still my love though.
My site update will be this weekend. It will have a whole bunch of cool things added. I will also be carrying some 18" 1 1/4" ape hangers. I love the old skool look!!.
Take Care guys, and ride the beast!!!

I have an '06 Train with the 200mm tire. What would be the problem with using the forward hole in the fender for the seat mount? I'm looking for a solo seat that fits great and has looks to match.
Thanks!

Tell me what u want, I can see if we can do it.

:chopper: Hey Again riders,

The reason why our seat right now wont fit on a 06 nightrain or any 200mm rear tire bike is because of a few different things. The rear fender is wider and flatter, making our solo seat sit with a 4" gap between the seat and fender. Our seats fit using the frame and tongue method.
our new 200mm seat we are developing will be the panacea for all the 200mm bikes that harley makes in a softail model.

Solo pads, yeah, Ive had many people ask for em, and I still might do it. thanks for suggestions.
Group buys im still in if you guys are.

Take Care,
Mammoth

Really like the look of the "2 up Saber" Flame seat. The additional photos shows what looks like an 05 heritage or fatboy using it. Same color as mine.
But I have no idea about comfort level of this seat.

DLRVelocity1,
I live in Havre de Grace do you hang out anywhere that I might see this seat on your bike?

Low Pro Mastodon" Pinstripe

I got a "Low Pro Mastodon Pinstripe" on my roadking. A really good looking seat and I was surprised how comfortable it was for such a thin seat. I don't think I'd use it for a 300-400 mile ride but I've had it on for a couple hundred and it was fine. I got a lot of compliments on it and it's a lot less than most others......

I have some feedback on my Mammoth Choppers seat. It's on my FXSTB, solo with flames. I got it on eBay from Mammoth and so far so good. It looks a lot like an HD Brawler and feels a lot like it but with some more break-in it'll feel real nice, much better than the DG Butt Crack I had before. The reach is about the same as the Brawler too.
