Adding a 12 volt cigarette lighter to a dresser

I did a search and everything but the answer to my question came up, maybe I worded it wrong.
I want to add a second 12 volt power source to my fairing so I can power my GPS, I want to leave my cigarette ligher alone and use it for what it was designed for.
My question is; where would I put it, I could guess at a good location but I'm sure you people have it all figured out for me...Thanks!

I've got a Garmin 2720 and I like the idea of the power source also being the mount, like you said, very clean. I found the power source I want and the power cable I need but where is the ball mount? I can't seem to find just the ball, I have the cradle and the arm to hold the unit so I don't need the whole kit, just the ball. Looks like I'll have to email them before I order.

I went with the Powerlet in the dash above and left of the speedo. I hardwired it to the battery so I can plug in my battery tender, very clean install.
I stayed with my handlebar mounted Ram-mount. I don't like the handlebar mount, it shakes like a sob at idle but I know of no other option.
