OK so I had someone approach me and ask to help him build his 96 ci street glide to a 107ci motor. I have some questions and know this is were to get the answers. Can stock 96 cylinders be bored to 107? Are there any issues that need to be looked at when going to 107 as apposed to 103? Heat issues? What would be a good static compression for a bagger with a 107? He wants a .590 mackie cam that closes at 42. Mackie will be doing the head work...or Bill chambers, not sure yet. I was thinking of about 9.8:1 static for a nice reliable bagger that wont need comp releases. This would be a California bike that would need to be able to run on 91oct gas. I am wanting to find that sweet spot that will deliver the best HP and TQ together with good manners. If need be I will talk to him about the use of comp releases (elect) if I can get better performance together with good manners (easy starting, cool running)
