Well, I like your attitude, and agree with you- except for he can't say that going from a Sporty to a BT is "trading UP" without some of us Sporty owners taking offense. His further attempts to clarify, only threw gas on the fire with equally shallow comments. Let us not forget that this post is in the "Sportster Motorcycle Family" area of this forum.

Your point re the "trading up" comment is valid, but in reading through this I really don't think there was any slight intended. A lot of people don't know that the Sporty has been HD's "performance" bike since its inception and that in its heyday was THE bike to own. "Chopped hogs" rode in the back of the pack because they were slow. This notion that Sporty's are lesser bikes reflects genuine ignorance, and we've all been there on something or other. I think a little thicker skin might be a good thing, JMHO. Besides, if someone was truly bashing, you wouldn't have to worry, as the mods would graciously step in with the appropriate wisdom!
