I've been running XiEDS for about three years. Bike has been running great, but in the last few weeks (it's happened twice) my bike will start and rev to about 2500 rpm before settling into idle at about 12-1500 rpm. Normally it idles at about 1,000 rpm. Also, when I shut it off and then restart, it starts REALLY hard, I have to crank it over for quite awhile, and then it spits, backfires, and misses for about 15-20 seconds. Going down the road it runs fine, just high idle and hard starting with misfires. Is this a sign that my XiEDs are bad or going bad?

Those are solid state units and don't really wear out. Pull them out and see if that helps, but I'm guessing an dirty or faulty IAC.
Then again, if it's a shovel or pan there is no IAC.
