If the head flow over 165 cfm intake at 10 in h20 and a good 80% for the exhaust, I'd go with the W8 unless of course you where planing on building the bike on a Tuesday.. Then I go for the 9.. Max

I think the 6h normally has a flatter curve than the 8 but the way these two charts are scaled differently, it magnifies that difference.

I thought that the cam with the wider LSA should have the flatter TQ curve..

I like the TR590 way better than the TW8.........way quieter and pulls hard through mid range.

Question for the pros..............how long could you run a .650 lift cam with stock rockers?

So how much quieter is the TR590 then than the woods? Running a woods 8g on a bagger and it ain't too bad.. Slight rattle it idle which I suspect might be from the travel limiters. I understand the 6h can be noisy.. The 8 running down the valve train sounds like stock.. I did the the gear lash set up correctly..

Ran a Crane 314 chain cam for a while in a 116.. Now that was noisy..

I am an Aussie as you know and I am not trying to promote anyones cams, just giving you my experiences with the TW8.

Well, I don't have Bobby's name tatooed on my chest.. Only cam I've struggled with was the WT26.. Not sure I could tell much difference between 2 identical builds with only a TR590/W8 change.. One cam may favor one build more then another.

So the 8 was in the 103 before? Same heads, CR, pipes etc.

Bassani Pro street turn out pipes and final ccp of 220, the bike has a super strong mid range and it rips!

With a CR of 10.6 to 1, I only get a 200 psi CCP, maybe you missed a little here or there.. What was the CCP on the W8?

In many cases that positive torque slope you get feels like more tq when in reality the peak TQ may be the same.. Prostreets have have a bit of a tq slope to them. Specially on a smaller motor Did you ever dyno both builds?

Have you worked with both cams? I have set up quite a few tw8g and they were not too bad on the noise.

I think you are pulling off the wrong parts trying to figure why performance is down...

So what should I be pulling off? Tried 3 different pipes.

Wait til he gets about 3000 miles on it. Bet it get a little bit of a personality.. I run 11.3 on my 116 with the grooves and it was nice and smooth for the first 3k. Nice Idle.. Now it idles like a race motor.. Not that I don't like it .. Bike runs great.. No ping on 91 cali gas, but it has a SnS 625 cam in it,, can be break parts if the battery ain't in good shape.. It's sitting right now cuz the battery. Needs a new one.. They only last about 2 years.. Bruce
