Just bought a Cee Bailes windshield. On the OEM shield there is a clear glue or tape between the frame and shield. Is this something i need? If so what can I use and were do I get it?

Should be able to get this tape from you local HD shop

For a 93 bagger the tape is p/n 58416-77A (2 each) and 58417-77 (2 each)

believe that it comes perforated for mount screws

I respectfully disagree. Yes you can go without the tape but I think it's not advised. The tape (? double sided adhesive) adds considerable rigidity to the windshield and your not solely relying the compression of the windshield at the mount screws. Mount screws torque is very low, I think it's about 5 or 10 inch pounds(?)

acording tho Cee Bailey its 3-5inlbs HD its 10-15inlbs. I think that ya if you dont use it and the bolt loosen the windshield will shift and scratch. I ordered the HD tape ill use blue locktite on the bolts like was on them.

Another reason to use the tape is it helps keep water out.
