I had posted here in the summer asking if anyone had done a wide glide conversion on their dyna and want to ad an update. Finally recieved my Accutronix kit for my FXD that was back ordered for 3-4 months. Went together real nice and everything worked better than I expected. Came with everything needed. This kit retained the headlight visor like I wanted. The only fabricating was a slot on the steering stem to accomodate the stock fork lock. Should have took it to a machine shop but just drilled small holes until it worked (pain-in-the-butt). Otherwise this was a painless installation.

What year is your FXD? And how much did the conversion kit set ya back?

scooter'68 - my superglide is a 2002. The kit is an Accutronix 39mm wide glide kit. Wasn't cheap, ran a little over $600 but looks pretty good. If you're interested a couple pics are at:

Nice looking bike....thanks for the info. I have a '02 LowRider that I would like to do the wide front end conversion on. Has the kit changed the handling of the bike at all?

scooter'68 - the only thing I've noticed (if it's not just me) is that it seems to turn a little wider when moving it in the garage. Other than that seems okay.
