My son (22) did some dirt riding as a teen and got his first road bike 4 years ago. Did the MS course, got endorsement and he was off and running. Like most younger riders he was interested in sport bikes...First bike was a 2016 KTM RC390. He bought it in late August and put 7,200 miles on it by Dec. The next spring traded it in for used 2012 Yamaha R6 which he still has. Seems like we are replacing tires on that thing every couple of months! He's become a very good rider and is looking to get into track days so he can stretch the legs on the R6 legally.

Daughter (25)...no interest!

Two sons and ex wife rode and ride. What’s important is you take that MSF class with her. She will learn friction control and a ton of other LIFE SAVING techniques. AND you will get a pretty good assessment of what type of rider she will be. Let her get coached and be her riding buddy. Set a good example of safety first. It will be a awesome bonding experience and you guys will get the latest updated MSF class.
