Hello! I was just wondering how many folks there are here from Oregon and what area you live in. We live east of Sandy, Oregon (about 30 miles east of Portland) and ride an 06 Wide Glide.

A ? for the Oregon riders.

Looks like we got a few Oregon riders here! COOL! I have a question for you though. I know at this time of year, it is hard to plan rides to much and if it is the least bit nice outside, you have to just hop on and go. But I was wondering if any of you have a hard time finding others to ride with? I live right off HWY 26 so I hear bikes going by all the time. But I don't know anyone who rides. Do you belong to any local clubs or groups? How do you find riding buddys?

try ABATE, couple of pretty active chapters in your area. Not many planned rides this time of year but when spring comes, go to the local "biker friendly" places for a drink on the weekend or on the local "taco night". Go on some of the poker runs in the area. You'll meet some people to ride with....

I have a couple guys I'll ride with up here but I like to keep it small or go it alone myself.
I'll try and remember to shoot ya a pm next time I get out your way :coffee:

ABATE, poker runs and ...

We joined the local ABATE chapter last year, and while a couple of them rode their bikes to the meetings, it seemed like no one wanted to get out and ride much. It seemed like it was just some older folks who wanted to go there to smoke and drink.

We did do a couple PokerRuns last year and that was a lot of fun! We also went on Sunday last year to the Fossil Campout and Rally and that was a blast!!!

Sounds like Abate of Or. alright:whisper: :D
I haven't been to the Fossil campout since the '80s....cops were always overbearing every time I wen't there.
Last time I went four of us got pulled over before we made it to the campground and hassled about everything they could think of.
My buddy riding lead got a ticket for a burned out lowbeam on his headlight that happened on the way there.

Not that way these days just to bring you up to date. I have gone 2001 thru 2005 and it's been really low key (as far as any law harassment.) Just want the record to be straight.

Huladude - WaCo ABATE is pretty active. Some come to ride - some don't. You gotta just take part and it'll become clear. I post runs and rally notices in here for this area during the season so watch for those to. What the fuk is a HulaBear.

Cheers and welcome.
