I get a whistling noise from my front end when I hit around 40mph, any ideas on what might be causing this. I have an 05 Superglide with 20k miles. I was thinking maybe the wheel bearings were going bad, but not sure. It does not happen all the time nor does it continue the whole time. Kind of comes and goes.

When is the last time you adjusted the belt mine made a chirp sound adjusted the belt no more sound.

My 01 has electronic.
not sure on the speedo, I'll have to check

If front wheel has been off since the whistle started the hole in the end of the axle may be creating the sound. If hole is facing up cover it, plug it or turn it to facing forward.

Wheel bearing noise can come and go, when they are first starting to go bad, so rule the front wheel bearings out.
Jack up the front end, spin the wheel (does it spin freely?) and shake side to side.
