Where's the Oil Come From?

I am out in the garage now trying to figure out how many plugs to remove to drain the engine oil. The owner’s manual clearly shows the transmission drain and the primary drain, but skips the part about engine oil drain. And the service manual that I ordered five weeks ago still has not arrived.

Looks like two or maybe even three plugs to remove – one for the tank which is clear to see. But is that the only engine oil drain location? There are two hex-key drain plugs on the bottom of the case. They are on the starboard side about two inches from each other; one a little higher than the other. Are these drains, too?

There is only one engine oil drain. Leave those plugs on the bottom of the engine case alone. There are not drains.

If in doubt about where the engine oil drain plug is, just find the oil hose on the back right side of the oil tank and follow it.

Remember you're going to have to take into account the oil in the filter. And after filling be sure to check the oil level again as if you don't fill the oil filter after installing, the oil level in the tank will fall somewhat because of the filter filling with oil.
