It's been a long, cold winter in southern Michigan and I am looking forward to a warm, dry day to ride. I bought an '02 FXD in July and love every minute that I'm riding it. I rode a '95 Virago 750 for 8 years before up until I found the Harley. My first bike was an '81 Suzuki GS450 that I bought in college.

The previous owner added all sorts of goodies to my Dyna, so I didn't have to: Chrome wheels, pipes, hypercharger, paint, saddle, windshield, etc. I did choose to buy Metzler ME 880 tires (thanks to the tips on this site) and it's amazing how much better they are compared to the stock Dunlops.

Well, I'll probably be going to the motorcycle show in Novi, MI. Too bad it's not in Detroit again this year. It sure was fun taking the people mover between Cobo and Greektown Casino. Hopefully, winter will end soon since it started so early.

:welcome: fellow Michigander! Just think, you could be living up here in TC, where the winters feel twice as long. Winter's a good time to pack the bike up for a few months and break out the skis.

Sounds like you have a sweet ride. Enjoy the site!

Welcome to the warm spot on a cold winter. The VTF is the place to read up on how our Southern and western brothers are still riding.

Welcome aboard.

Hey Buckeye,

Another Michigander here. I got out today for about 20 miles. I don't have a lot of riding gear so it wasn't a long ride - but no snow, and the recent rains got rid of the salt. I had to get a fiz while I had a chance. I guess we're in for 2-4 inches of snow tonight.

Damn.

Welcome to the forum!!!

Most likely see you guys in Novi at the "Rock Financial Showplace" - whatever it's still the Expo to me.

Winter is getting expensive too!!

Not much better here is Western NY (The Miami of the North). Getting expensive too, too much time to spend on the internet on new thingys for the scoot.

I feel your pain. Over here in the Twin Cities, sometimes winter is done in the middle of March, sometimes not until the end of April. I always try to get out on the bike at least once by April 15th, but with all the salt and sand they throw on the roads here, you can never be too sure. Hang in there, summer will be here soon. Just make sure you enjoy the three months a year without snow in the upper midwest!:woohoo: :woohoo:
