seems there are tons of older mufflers that fit up to 06 on the heritage classic
but very few for my 07 heritage. dealer claims bla bla bla they are different. will the older slipons fit and bolt up or an I stuck with 07 stuff?

No, the interconnect between the two cylinders is now between the head pipes in the newer bikes. Mounting bracket is different too.
Complete exhaust system should fit

Dealer speak the truth.
There are two mounting points welded to each muffler body. This is where a bolt goes through the support and into the muffler body. The distance between the mounting points is different for '06 and '07.

You can:
1) convert to an '06 style exhaust if you weld O2 bungs onto the 'O6 headpipes This is not a bad option since so many '06 takeoffs are available on ebay. All the other diminsions are the same so it just bolts right up. Besue to also get the '06 support.

2) weld new mounting points onto the '06 slipons. Probably kinda hard on the chrome, but the discoloration MIGHT be hidden rom normal view.
