They stopped the pain in my lower back...

I bought a pair at the Dragon Tail and hooked up in the turns more than I can imagine. They also stopped the pain in my lower back when I bottomed out the stock POS shocks Harley puts on the Factory Road Glide Screaming Eagle. Now this Eagle flies with control around corners and over bumps without being noticed. I looked at Ohlins and I bought JRi. I would recommend them to any bike owner no matter the brand. Thank you Marcus McBain. - Lee

My wife wasn't sure she wanted to ride anymore..

I have a ’09 CVO Road Glide and after the first few times riding it, my wife wasn’t sure if she wanted to ride anymore. After putting on JRi shocks for Harley, she was mad because I waited so long to install them. They were easy to put on, aesthetically pleasing to the eye and the ride…..is like no other. It really feels like another bike. I’m having to learn how to ride again because I have been riding what felt like a hard tail. I’m pretty hard to please to the point of selling this bike because of the ride. I would recommend to anyone, especially Harley to use these shocks. 5 stars! - Mark

I am a very satisfied customer

I am not writing this post to tell you about my racing accomplishments this past weekend. I am not even a member of a race team, professional or amateur. I don't have any medals or awards to show myself standing in victory lane. What I am though is a very satisfied Harley owner with a pair of JRi Adjustable Harley Shocks installed. I can tell you that I have had your shocks on my bike for 26K+ miles now and the last 1,800 miles were spent this last week riding everything from tight twisty back roads to long straight highways and everything in between and your shocks absorbed every bump, ripple and pot hole without missing a beat. My Street Glide has never ridden smoother than when I went to JRi Shocks.

Worth Every Penny!

My Wife rides a 2004 Electra Glide Classic with the tour pac etc. intact and she impresses most when they see her small frame get off that big bagger, so she always draws attention wherever we go. And with over 60,000 miles on it, it doesn’t just sit in the garage. She used to have the OEM Harley Davidson 3/4″ Lowered air shocks on her bike with a narrow seat so she could get her feet on the ground and people are always coming over to her asking about her suspension and how she gets her feet on the ground with such a large bike. The funny thing was though, that she never really realized her bike had suspension until she put on your JRI 12″ single adjustable shocks. Not only could she get her feet on the ground even better than the Harley lowered shock, but she finally realized she had suspension! Now when we go over rough pavement or a large bump, I will ask her how did they do? Her response is… (with a huge smile on her face) what bump? The difference is truly day and night between the JRI shocks and the OEM Harley Shocks… If you ask her if the JRI shocks were worth the price, she will tell you EVERY PENNY! I’m going to be replacing my so called “Premium Ride” (not…) Hand-Adjustable Harley Davidson Touring Shocks on my 2010 HD Limited with JRI’s at Daytona Bike week in March. Are we fans? You bet! She recommends these shocks to everyone she meets. A huge 5 stars! BTW, customer service from JRI has also been outstanding. -Rich

I have JRi B shocks purchased from shock guru Howard at motorcyclemetal about three years ago. at the time they were 100% American made as I was told. They continue to perform as promised.
Having noticed a year later that the they did not look the same, now I ask where are they made today. also why is Howard not promoting them as before.

JRi Shocks and Motorcycle Metal no longer do any business together. It is unfortunate in some ways, but for us it has really helped us grow the product in terms of performance and ability to deliver to the marketplace. We now sell through J&P Cycles, Tucker Rocky (which gives you the ability to go any local dealer and purchase our product), and directly (from JRi).

ALL OF OUR SHOCKS are completely assembled in the U.S. as it has always been...every part assembled in the U.S by hand. Our materials are sourced both in the U.S. and overseas…again, it has always been that way.

In our previous model (prior to May 2014), we did work with our suppliers and work on material specifications jointly. WE NOW put all material specifications to OUR SPECIFICATIONS. The main thing you notice on the new shocks in the complete anodizing on the shock to provide improved long term function and appearance.

Lastly, our new shocks are a ½” shaft vs. 5/8” shaft. They perform better than any of our previous shocks. The smaller shaft prevents “spiking” in compression damping and ensures a smoother ride overall. This is not to say the company was not happy with the previous model we sold…we just wanted the ride to continue to improve for our customers.

The best testimonial I have ever received was this last week at Brigit’s Custom Works http://brigitscustomworks.com in Daytona during bike week. Brigit is a well-known person in the Daytona shop scene. She is the “real deal”. Anyway, I brought a set of 11” demo shocks for her to put on her Electra Glide. She resisted as she just felt that “we were bolting on more stuff” on her bike that she likes to look “clean”. Brigit’s response after riding her bike for the first time, “…I kept riding over the rail road tracks, I can’t believe how good my bike handles the bumps now. It completely changed my bike.” That is a “real deal” testimonial. Anyone that knows Brigit (and there are many) can tell you she does not exaggerate anything.

I hope this answers your question(s). JRi Shocks was born from industry pioneer Jeff Ryan. Jeff is a legend in the industry and our products are exception because of the knowledge he has “sprinkled into the product”. I am glad to be part of the development , but realize that the amount of experience that goes into our product design is beyond what any other manufacturer can claim.

when I purchased these shocks with 5/8" shaft I was told that they could be rebuilt. Since the 5/8" shaft is no longer made that suggests to me that it is no longer able to be rebuilt unless you have a stock pile of parts.
If I am wrong please direct me to where I can buy a rebuild kit for future use.

Thanks tj316, I can confirm he is no longer with them. Jeff replied to my email confirming the change in shaft size. while I asked for a rebuild kit to have handy, Jeff said that parts should be available when the time comes, without offering to send a rebuild kit.

I will repeat that the JRI B 13 that I have do work as expected.
I will wait upon the time a rebuild may be needed and see if there are parts to rebuild a shock only manufactured for a short time to gain the Harley market and then changed and sourced offshore to boot, with only assembly in the US

Which fact is applicable, he was let go or he left on his own? You are proposing diametrically opposed facts and jumping my ass? Make up some more stuff, Sunshine. . . .

Hey guys, just to clear things up, Marcus chose to leave JRi of his own accord. He had an opportunity to make a change and do something different which he took. He was not let go.

We are actively seeking a replacement and interviewing candidates now.

If possible to keep the general discussion off of this thread, our goal is to make this a "reviews" thread where people can read and post reviews on their experience with JRi shocks. If you have technical questions or general questions about JRi please feel free to ask.

A very satisfied dealer

A customer who purchased his JRi Harley Shocks through his local dealer recently wrote to tell us what his dealer had to say after installing 2 sets on his and his fathers machines.

"Both bikes are ready to go, work is all complete. I love those rear shocks, you did a good job with your research. We were always pushing the progressive rear shocks but now we will be pushing the JRi Shocks because they are much better"

If you ride on JRi Shocks we'd love to hear from you as well! You can post a review on our website here:

"After installing the shocks, I left the spring preload as received, verified the sweep valve was 30 clicks out and took a ride. Unbelievable improvement but still just a tad “stiff” for solo. I’ve ended up with the setting at 25 clicks and man does it feel good. Compliant comfortable ride, still leans in good, chassis remains stable at higher speeds, no wallowing etc. So…you nailed it on set-up!"
