What might this be for/from?

Just doing a little tinkering getting to know the girl and saw the unconnected molex connector. It is capped now that I’m looking at it from behind it. There are no other connectors missing the mating connector.

Does anyone know what this would be for?

I am just one of those OCD types that has to know every single little thing about what everything is for down to the theory behind why it’s done a certain way. I guess you would say the quintessential gear nerd.

Hi QGN, is this about the 10 Wide Glide you are talking about in your other posts?

You might want to go into Account Settings and create a Signature which will show at the bottom of all your posts with some pertinent information about your ride (when you discover it) if you are going to be asking questions about the bike. It will keep people that want to help from just throwing stuff at the wall, or having to ask what you are working on every time. To get there, look at the banner across the top of the page on the right side where your avatar is and click to get the menu.

You can see the rear O2 sensor in the first pic and the front one in the 4th pic. Is there any sort of wiring connected to them? There should be a pigtail coming off the end of each sensor with a 2 pin connector. If they're not connected to the harness, they should be tied off somewhere that they won't just flop around. Does the wiring look like it will stretch far enough to reach either sensor?

In your snooping, have you looked for some sort of piggyback tuning module under the seat or behind the left side cover, where most of your electrics are located? There might be one, or maybe not as most modern tuning is done internally to the stock ECM.

If you've never been here, you might want to save this link for future reference. It's almost as good as having the parts book for your bike in your hands.

Do you have this thing?

I don't know if you can see it with my link. It looks like there are only 12 pages of wiring diagrams for 2010 Dynas.

Sorry. I would have looked, but my eyes already glazed over. I'll never play the piano again.
That one pic, with the cap on, has a green wire. Past that, no way to see.

I saw one place in the wiring harness where there was something called an Intake Solenoid. That is meaningless to me, living back in the Stone Ages. It was for a 2-pin connector in the vicinity of the connector you are holding. Since your bike has an S&S backing plate for some reason known only to the person that installed it, I would investigate there. Maybe it was some sort of nostalgia thing. Got to have that teardrop cover.

OK. I looked again. Active Intake Solenoid. HDI.

If the bike has no running problems, it was successfully bypassed. And nothing to worry about, except for a QGN.

I knew there was something wrong with the backing plate when there was no enricher lever.
