Happy New Year!

Does anyone have any experience with the Simpson Shorty OTW Helmet?

https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/simpson-shorty-otw-helmet

Would be interested to know if the fit is accurate or if it runs smaller or larger than indicated...

Thanks

I've got a 1/2 and 3/4 helmets (not Simpson) and neither one vents worth a sh!t.

 That's pretty funny

I have a 1/2 with no vents and lots of sweat...hoping the Simpson works...
The 'hide your pretty face' feature is nice.

I suppose any venting is better than no venting, but to answer your question...no.
I've never felt the need for a vented half helmet, but the Shoei Neotec full face has very nice functional airation...especially in winter. Now if riding in New Mexico in late spring or summer, it could be that some venting of a half helmet might be some benefit.

Try an AK 88. Eighty nine bucks through the manufacturer or 99 from Revzilla. The smallest DOT on the market they say. It has no vents, but is cool enough.

I have an Icon full coverage with vents. I can't tell the vents are open until Winter.
I have a Shoei J-Cruise 3/4. It vents very well when moving but the fit is a little funky. It sits so low on my brow that it feels weird. I might be inclined to give that Simpsons helmet a try. The only thing about the half helmets is, if you get caught in the rain, it's not real pleasant.

I wear goggles over my prescription glasses if raining. I have tried all kinds of prescription bike glasses, Ray-Ban etc. They all suck.

If you're not getting enough "vent" thru that big hole your face sticks out of those little tiny ones on top of the helmet aren't going to help.

IMHO getting caught in the rain sucks no matter what helmet you're wearing.

No doubt...except that short band on a hot summer day.
Aaaaaah...that feels fine.
What happened to ECat? He asked and then split.

Riding behind a 4 door Silverado and an occasional drop of water off his ac hits me is another relief on a hot day.

Ya, I rode home in the rain at night once...so I figure the only thing that sucks worse than riding in the rain is riding in the rain at night...don't look to be repeating that any time soon...:badmood:

Actually not to much snow this year...so far...but seems like I'm busier than a one armed wall paper hanger in a wind storm these days...

No snow, but colder than a well digger's arse I bet. Lucky you not down here where everyone I know has a virus. Check out the AK 88 it doesn't have vent holes, but has been a cool summer helmet for me.
