vance and hines vs cobra

I am looking to put some aftermarket exhaust on my 2005 Honda VTX F3. I have done research on the Vance and Hines Bigshots as well as the Cobra Angled Slashcuts. I really like the looks of the cobra pipes, but question the quality and sound vs the Bigshots. Does anyone have any information regarding the two exhaust systems? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Would suggest that you visit VTXOA for specific info
from Honda riders.
I have the VH Big Shots on my VTX 1800R I am disappointed with the noise, I thought they would be louder. However I am constantally getting compliments on the noise from other riders and of course my neighbors have a few things negative responces on them when I am leaving on a early morning weekend ride. They do sound nice though I just want something more obnoxious
With the dual-pin design of the engine you will never get that real deep sound. IMHO the VTX 1800 sounds more like a V-8 than a V-Twin and I absolutely love it!!!!
I have a set of Cobra Slash Cut slip-ons on my VT1100C. Love 'em. Sounds great. Plenty loud. Set off car alarms all the time with it. Its not as loud as my FXSTBI, but thats due, in part, to the difference in the motor size etc.

Only downside of the Cobra's, IMHO, is the lack of a full length heat shield. Its a fact that chrome pipes will discolor. No real way around it. But with a full length heat shield, like V&H's has, you won't see the discoloration. Good luck...

I Had Roadhouse Slip-ons on my Retro. They look like stock pipes. They had a nice deep rumble but were not overly loud. Try this link. You can get a lot of opinions on pipes for your VTX there. http://forums.delphiforums.com/HondaVTX/start
