And here it is, the much awaited V-Twin Forums Ride of the Month 2017 Event 8. AKA as the FXR Special.

This should be a busy event with lots of Cult participation.

So get the summer dirt and bugs rubbed off of them, take a few fresh photos, and enter em up.

This is the last event of 2017. Next up we have the run off qualifier event, and then its on to V-Twin Forums Ride of the Year.

The Qualifier will run for the month of November, with the Ride of the Year decided on News Years Day.

As always, please remember to format those entries properly. And keep comments on topic in the entry thread. Don't re-post entry photos in your quotes. Save the fun and harassment for the poll threads.

Did youens really think I was going to sit this one out?
Here it is, my little yellow Superglide

Year: 2000
Model: FXR-4
Eng size: 80 inch
Transmission: 5 speed
Pipes: Oem Staggers, reworked baffles
Seat: Sundowner
Wheels: Oem, Disk on rear Spokes up front, with Elite 3 rubber.

And the story: I picked this up used a while back. The previous owner had made it his own. So little by little I put it back to the way it should have been. And then made a few more changes, to make it the way I would have built it.

I put buckhorn bars on it, to make it more like it's Low Rider brothers.

Then I rebuilt the front forks with custom springs and emulators.

To make it go, I put an EV-27 cam in with an adjustable spark box, then tricked the CV out a little. And for a little sleeper effect, a 21 tooth motor sprocket.

It's mild mannered to ride, handles like a dream, stops on a dime, and sparkles in the sun. IMHO the perfect little scooter for when I feel the need for some bling.

Joe,,,, that is a fine looking bike. Even with you butt ugly forward controls. lol,,,,, Didn't you already win rom with that bike??? Just wondering.
He's fine, it's been more than a year.

Might have been a little less obvious if you had taken some new photos, Joe.
Therm, how did you "rework" the baffles?
Drove a 3/4 inch stone drill through them. But somehow, "reworked" sounds better.
BTW thermo, drop your fork bag below the lamp so you can be cool like alan.
Its up there for a reason. When I changed the bars I kept the oem riser cap, sans the 5 inch riser that hid the wire harnes to the lamps in the cap. I put a chrome shield over the wires, but it looks beter with the bag over it.

And its a real tight fit down low. It would almost have to drag the ground on that scooter. Not to mention how convenient it is to have it where it's easy to get to.
This is an entry thread. Keep the BS to a minimum.
That's it folks.

No more entries.
