And here it is, the much awaited V-Twin Forums Ride of the Month 2017 Event 8. AKA as the FXR Special.

This should be a busy event with lots of Cult participation.

So get the summer dirt and bugs rubbed off of them, take a few fresh photos, and enter em up.

This is the last event of 2017. Next up we have the run off qualifier event, and then its on to V-Twin Forums Ride of the Year.

The Qualifier will run for the month of November, with the Ride of the Year decided on News Years Day.

As always, please remember to format those entries properly. And keep comments on topic in the entry thread. Don't re-post entry photos in your quotes. Save the fun and harassment for the poll threads.

This is a pretty pathetic showing for a friggin' CULT! I have half a mind to deactivate a whole bunch of decoder Rings.

Year: 1993

Model: FXRT

Eng size: 80 CID

Transmission(5sp, 6sp etc): 5

Pipes: White Brothers E-Pipe 2-1

Seat: Mustang Wide Touring

Wheels: Stock Moco

And the story: Bought it in '04 in South Carolina. Brought it home to Oklahoma. Crashed it in '06. Part of the rebuild was changing it from black to white.

It has what some call Stage 2 engine mods- EV-27 cam, WB 2-1 pipes, modded CV, and Wiseco 10:1 pistons. I put an S&S carb on it but went back to the CV.

I've added fog/driving lights, LED headlight, rear LED stop/signal light strip (to augment, not replace, stock lights), Clearview windshield, my brother's FL crashguard, and a butt-ugly home-made forward brake pedal that works great for me.

edit--- I forgot, it also has a SE fork brace and a SEAC.

Joe,,,, that is a fine looking bike. Even with you butt ugly forward controls. lol,,,,, Didn't you already win rom with that bike??? Just wondering.
Thank you.

If he didn't he should have.
Well guys, which answer, 'yes' or 'no', will help make you vote for me? I want to be the second first time owner of a twice winning bike. ;)

Who knew Alan S even had a bike? :)
Wow. That's hard.

Wow, this month ain't gonna be a gimme for anyone.

If I'd have known people were going to show up, I wouldn't have entered my wreck.
Pshaw. I like it- it's a rider, an honest motorcycle, no prretense.

maybe you know something i don't but there ain't much
difference between the two aside from physical appearance.
Men are taller, stronger, and grow beards.

When does the voting start? I need to get some pictures but the next couple of days are supposed to be rainy.
We'll be able to see if you waxed it.

This is going to be hard.
I'm afraid we're gonna have to make all entrants be Cult members- just to thin the crowd a little.

... or maybe boost membership.

Good idea but can you process the paperwork and background checks that fast?
Yeah, I think so- with Alan's help. But we'll probably need some of his mojo.

A truckload.

So, is the ROTM always a different "model" each month? Just wondered why this month it sounded like the bikes could ONLY be FXRs.
In the past, there was complaining because FXRs won too much against the other models. The current system of limiting a contest to specific bike models is, at least partly, a response to that.

So yes, this month is FXR only.
