v twin cam bearings

hi everyone ,im charlie from the uk ive got me an ultra bought july 99 had a new engine replacement oct 99 have put 10000miles on it sinc am now having bottom end cam problems any ideas have heard it is a recall anyone with info is welcome thanks.

Yes there was a problem with the cam bearings in 99 and early 00 TC engines.
They do not have a recall on them but there is a "service campaign" a number of "factory bulletin's" and a "warranty extension" to 5 years or 50000 miles for engines that have failed in this area.

You can go to the corporate website and under "service" enter your VIN# and in the case of the US bikes some info will appear if your bike is affected. Not sure if it is the case for export bikes, but it should be.
Take the thing to the dealer and don't take NO for an answer.

Tell your dealer to look at the dealer Tech tip bullitin #54 last page labeled as attachment #1 - it is the 50k/5 yr extension letter, and the M1100 service bullitin is the replacement bullitin for the cam bearings and support plate.

thanks tyo the advice from all ,will be looking at the ideas and try and locate these bulletins it seems in the uk these things are kept at arms length from us new boys ;)
