Have 2011 Road Glide Ultra that I want to do an exhaust upgrade on. All I am wanting to do is replace the header pipe to get rid of the heat from the cat and richen it up a little to get rid of the pinging. I'm happy with the current, stock power. I don't need 500 hp to ride the cruise at 70 mph. And I want to keep it as quiet as possible and I want true duals. I am leaning towards Vance & Hines dresser duals cause I like their looks and run my stock slip-ons. Then, either do a PCV install or a dealer dyno. Anybody see a problem with this? Any suggestions? Thanks

No problem at all..... Am I understanding you, you want to keep your mufflers ? I got a buddy who uses a BUB set of true duals and stock slip ons, PCV, and set up his own tune. It runs great, no ping, no pop, ever...... But I think it would be better with a good dyno tune, and get a little better mileage also. Peace..

I also emailed Vance & Hines and they also said no problem running true duals and stock slip-ons. He did advise a high flow breather as well. I also asked about their fuelpak vs the PCV vs. a dealer run dyno and he said any choice of the 3 would be ok. He advised their own fuelpak fuel management system because my upgrades were so minor. He said the reason everone likes the PCV better is because it has higher limits for more modified engines. Those who spend $450 for a PCV module for minor upgrades like mine are wasting their money. The problem with the dealer dyno is that if I modify it again, such as add slip-ons, then I have to have it dyno tuned again, vs just tweaking the program on a module.

The reason I wanted to keep the stock mufflers, is because I prefer my touring bike to be nice and quiet so I can enjoy the tunes coming from the great sound system I installed. If I want noise, I can hop on my Fatboy with the drag pipes.

I wanted quiet on my Bagger, too, and an increase in performance. After listening to all the "quiet" mufflers out there, I picked S&S SPO-80 mufflers for my ride. Nice increase in performance and no big increase in noise.

Those head pipes are a little tricky to tune right.
from my experance with the fuel pak,i cant see them having anything that would work right. considering they cant get close on any of there easier exhaust.
actually the pc v with auto tune might be your ticket. I truely think the PC vision is better, because you flash the factory ECM.
but you have to use what you can use ,or what the tuner you have can use if you decide to have it dyno tuned.
it boils down to you have a 2011 bike.most tuners cant tune them without useing the factory NB sensors for sampling with the reflash type tuners :spank: so your better of with a PC V A/T and someone that can tune one. or sad to say but you can do a better job with auto tune than a lot of the other pro tuners. that sample a small portion and guess on the rest.

it is really sad kirk that you cant get your tts tuned correct.
