Greetings
How rude of me. I got into the forum a month or so ago and did not introduce myself. I am Jim and originally from West Allis, Wisconsin currently working for the Army in Germany. My first riding experience was with my Dad. I guess I was about 8 or 10 years old and he was a State Fair Park policeman. His ride was an old Servicar and he would putt around the park on it. There is also a race trak at the park. I think the Miller 400 is run there today. Anyhow, he took me for a ride without telling my Mother and we ended up on the oval mile. I almost sh*t myself, I was so excited. He swore me to secrecy but now he is gone and my Mother doesn't read this forum. Anyhow, Thanks Dad. Gone to a better place but you left an itch that needs scratching. Today at 52, I ride a Road King Classic. Sure did enjoy that Servicar ride, though.

I have a late uncle who caused the motorcycle mania in me. I was 6 or 7 when I got my first scooter ride. All I remember of the bike was that it was a Harley and it was shiny. Welcome to the forum. Post often.

Welcome, duffysjim!
Many great folks on this forum! (Do I hear an echo! :D )
You'll enjoy the time you spend here!
I've only been here a coupla weeks myself, but am having a great time.
I, also, had a late uncle that bit me with the 2-wheel bug.
He had a '63 BSA Lightning & I was 10 yrs old.
37+ yrs later, I've never been far from Scooterville.
Ride safe & post often!

Welcome duffysjim,
I think most can relate to your great story. Fishin' and bikin', there ought to be a law requiring Dads to introduce their kids to both.
