I've given this some thought and I don't know if I would want a filter sitting where the DK kit puts it on a touring bike. Not that Harley puts the filter in a great location to begin with but looks even more vulnerable relocated to under the primary area.

I just did mine the other day and used a piece of coil stock. Worked better than other methods I've tried..

I used Fram exclusively for years and had a Ford F100 go nearly 280,000 miles using only Fram filters. But, that was back when Fram was Fram. These days I'll use a Fram on my wood splitter but otherwise if I do an oil change I use Wix, Purolator or the OEM (usually a Wix made filter). I don't change my own oil anymore except for the bikes and completely stopped using quick change places for anything except trailer inspections.

My little injected Chrysler 383 used to blow Fram HP filters apart if the engine revved at all when cold, straight 50W and 105 oil psi. would do it! Did it once on the burnout at Indy, they were not happy!
