I have a 2001 RKC with just over 40,000 miles on it. I'm getting the tires replaced and my mechanic recommended that I might want to replace the front motor mount and swingarm bushings since this summer we're going on what should be around a 6,000 mile trip. What kind of mileage do most people see when their swingarm bushings start to go? My mechanic says that since they degrade so gradually, unless there's a catastrophic failure, you just get used to the extra vibration. We normally ride two up and the bike pulls a trailer with all our camping gear. Usually no more than 20 lbs of weight on the trailer hitch. What's peoples' experience with the swingarm bushings when they go bad? Also, is there a rebuild kit that goes with them? TIA. jopez

Engine mount is common to fail. Easy change. Nowere in the service schedule does it say to replace the swingarm bearings.
