Just bought a 2012 SG in Big Blue Pearl and like the bike a lot. The only thing I don't like about the look is the ugly tank emblem. To me, it looks like a very cheap material and like it was added on as an after thought once the bike had been designed. I would have much preferred a nice chrome emblem or even a painted logo. Just my opinion.

Nice thing about it though....you can remove with fishing line or guitar string.

if you dont care about destroying it, you can heat it with a heat gun and start at one end and pull it off, usually breaking/destroying it in the process. Pats method works well if you want to save it, just a little trickier.

take it off with fishin line and wd40. The wd will loosen any glue left. I took that emblem off my 2010 sg and just left it blank. Anyone who knows Harleys knows it's one, no one else matters
