I am looking to change my stock 4" crank from an 03 softail 88b with a 4 3/8 stroker from a 07 fxstc. Can I go past 06 on an exchange???

I dont believe so. The compensator assembly is different and wont fit in your primary. Probably have to buy a SE 4 3/8" for 99-06 (except 06 dyna).
