I have a 2011 FLHP and find that the front suspension is too soft for my liking. The heavy dive it takes when breaking even moderately drives me nuts. Stiffening might be the wrong term to use but essentially I want less dive. Has anyone had success in this ?
is there any reason I wouldn't want to do this?

Heavier fork oil slows the dampening rate, heavier rated fork springs stiffen the suspension. Lot's of options out there to tune the suspension to your needs.

Several ways to do what you ask... and all depends on your expectations and budget...
Cartridges,,, great and most expensive
Emulators very good and moderately expensive
Heavier fork oil and stiffer springs, least expensive work ok for many riders

I would switch to 30 weight fork oil first, and see how it feels and go from there... don't forget to stiffen up the rear as well..
