I used my polaris atv/sled grease for the stearing bearing. So far so good. Just so you know it takes a lot the first time, so much you think your pumps broke or its going into the frame.

I bought some Amsoil wheel bearing grease, and have not had any weeping yet. 8000 miles so far in southern Nevada heat...

Amsoil Muntipurpose Grease is the way to go. The HD still seems very lightweight even watery out of the tube

Seems like I read somewhere that the Harley Special Purpose Grease (not wheel bearing grease) was created to ensure no paint damage. Could be wrong just seem to remember reading that somewhere.

Anyway, any chance of the Amsoil stuff damaging paint?

Thanks.
