Hey guys, I had something strange happen yesterday. Rode to lunch with wife, her sis and husband, backing into street parking spot I hit the kill switch. I don't usually use the kill switch just the ignition, well you can see where this is going. I left the ignition on for an hour while we ate, notice it when I went to put helmit on. It fired up first time but, after a short warm up ( it was 100 here yesterday) we rode off it stalled four times in 1/4 mile, just died no sputter or anything. I 'd pull in the clutch till it stopped running then let it out to "push start it". It would fire up but the speedo would run backwards and the die. The starter fired it up fine and ran until next stall. After about 1/2 mile it was fine. I put her on the battery charger when we got home. Was it just acting up because the battery was low? 98 Road King police fi.
Thanks for any input.

Yup, way it goes. Unless the battery was brand new it is now suspect. It may appear to be fine but is now likely to fail before it's time, in particular it was not one of the new AGM batteries.

Hippo, it is a new battery as of December, sealed, no maintenance type. I had it on the charger all night and it fired right up the next day, but again it fired right up at the restaurant.
Tahnks Dan
