I recently picked up a 03 XLH with 1200miles. The pipes seem to be quite a bit louder than stock. The guy who sold it to me told me the bike was "dyna tuned" . There are no markings on the pipes to tell me the brand. Has anyone ever heard of this "dyna tuning"? Any comments would be appreciated.

dyna is short for dynamic; dynamic tuned. The bike is put on a machine that allows the operator to tweek the performance of the bike. It likely has nothing to do with the maker of the pipes. I have never seen one of these machines but I think my description is spot-on.

sometimes people drill a hole in the stock mufflers baffles, that would make them louder. sometimes pipes have on the under side of them the maker of the pipe. how does the bike run and are the pipes to your liking sound wise? if the answers are both yes then your just trying to know more about your cycle which I understand and can appreciate, you came to the right folks here.

good luck and ride safe.

Thanks folks, the bike runs and sounds great. Just curious as to weather the carb was re jetted or if any thing else was done. Thanks for your patience,as I am new to HD. I used to race KTMs but gave it up some 20 years ago. Now I remember how much I loved and missed thesport.
