Ahhh, I should have known..LOL.

 

A little Paint should do the job - There is also a liquid rubber that you can pick which will blend in without being to obvious; it can be picked up at most auto stores.

 

I was hoping some type of mild concoction or trade secret like the Mr Clean Magic Eraser or something would work? Anybody removed this type of imprinted lettering.

 

Acetone will do the job, just be sure it's dry before firing her up..

 

That kindda sucks. I ordered mine and they arrived black with "Screaming Eagle" in dark gray - not very noticeable at all.....

 

Yeah Mike, dark gray would have been fine but that big bold orange just does nothing for me or my Putt!

 

maybe try some light sand paper? try it on the old ones see how it works??

 

My hobby is model railroading and when I need to remove lettering on any of the trains, I use is a small amount of DOT 3 brake fluid on a pencil eraser. It hasn't caused me any problems and doesn't seem to affect the styrene plastic that the cars are made of. That being said, I would try it on the old wires first.

Sounds crazy I know, but I have removed lettering on a few other things with aerosol hair spray and a Q-tip..... Worth a shot before using anything that might soften the rubber.

If you have a wife or girlfriend, it is a freebie to try it.

 

Whats the point of ordering SE cables if you just wanted plain black ones?

Theres probably a variety aftermarket suppliers that can supply single colour cables.

Theres local indy stores over here in OZ that can make or order any custom design you can think of.

 

Because I have had much better performance and luck out of the SE's. In the past when I purchased them they did not have the orange logo.

Can't you just turn around and sell them on Ebay and get yourself another set.? Hopefully this time you can get your hands on a set with that dark Grey lettering like the other posters got.

 

Why not just put the stock wires back on? You won't notice any difference in performance.

 

The stock wires are 8 years old and showing signs of wear. Thanks for all of the comments....I am all set.
