Have a question for you....I special ordered and picked a new set of Screaming Eagle spark plug wires and specifically asked if they were like the old ones and could still be ordered in black before I special order and pay for them. Yes was the answer, so I bought them. So I get around to putting them on last night and notice that they are black...But with bold orange lettering saying Screaming Eagle on them. Anybody know how to remove the lettering without damaging the wires? Thanks.

Acetone will do the job, just be sure it's dry before firing her up..

My hobby is model railroading and when I need to remove lettering on any of the trains, I use is a small amount of DOT 3 brake fluid on a pencil eraser. It hasn't caused me any problems and doesn't seem to affect the styrene plastic that the cars are made of. That being said, I would try it on the old wires first.
