It is excellent, not everybody's choice but suits me as I am after comfort not looks. Not shown in that picture is the passenger seat, #79130 and sissy bar, but you can see them at my Webshots if you click on my signature line.

I just joined the forum. I posted yesterday in the "new guy" area. I got an 05 FXSTI in Oct 04. I'm not much of a chromosexual, but there are some nice looking bikes in here!
I'm really interested in the little tips and tweaks. The things you do when you find yourself just looking at your bike and thinking, "I'd like to modify that a little bit, and I found a part online, but hell, I can just modify what I have"
Anybody can go to the dealer and buy $5,000 worth of HD stuff and bolt it on. So far, I have cut down my seat and and modifying the tail light license plate area.
I tried to attach a pic, don't know if it worked. My first post in the new guy area has a pic.

Finally, a reply.......
Now as for your question, I think the seat moved me ahead an inch or two. That would be because of the construction of the built in backrest support, which is an excellent addition by the way.
Another change or a feel really is that the seat is very narrow at the front. That in itself is not a problem but I have offset extensions on my pegs which lowers my legs, therefore it feels that my upper thighs take some weight. This would not be the case if my feet and knees were higher keeping the support area more on the tailbone if you get my drift. I am trialling a set of highway pegs to give me a choice of positions for long periods of highway cruising.

Robustus, first of all, let me say first that the seat is very comfortable. My riding habits have not changed since I got the seat, but now I do not have to stop and get the circulation back in my butt like I did with the stock seat.Robustus said:

Thanks.. I lowered it with the progressive kit.. It rides kinda hard but I dont bottom out or rubb anything... The rear tire is an Avon 140 series, I dont think I could have went ay bigger, the belt is real close... The Turn signals are Kuryakyn halogen silver bullets...junkiefred said:

Thanks. Sold the Jeep about 6 months ago, had to get rid of it since we had a newborn coming.
They are Big Shot "Shorts." Looking at getting some Samson Ground Pounders in the near future.
Bars are 8" rise and I'm not sure about the pulback. With those bars I was able to use stock lengths on all the braided cables. Hope that helps. Also, they are only 1-1/4 in diameter. If I were to do this over I would get 1-1/2 diameter bars and a 6" rise. I went with the 8" because my plan was to install a 3" tank lift. I installed the tank lift and decided to removed it because to much of the backbone was exposed, didn't look right.

No reaching at all. I'm 5'11" and would say that my setup is similar to the stock position minus the handlebar grip angle.
I need to extend my foot controls, have you done that yet? If so, which kind did you go with?
