Hey Brama, which seat is that you have on there?
The seat is the HD Badlander for Softail Models.
Lovin' it

I've had my bike since March of 2003; I love it. I'm considering adding a 240 tire kit if I can decide on the best option.

Hoss, I used the performance machine kit. Its a good kit real easy to install. I like the looks of the Jim Nasi kit alot, I kind of wish I had waited for it.
Finally!!!!!!

well after a year of dodging bomms, bullets, and mortars my dream has finally come true. tonight i walked into HD of waco and made my dreams come true. i got my black soft tail standard. of course as it always goes it isn't leaving the dealer in stock condition. i got the HD street slammer bars, braided cables, lowering kit, and a set of v&h big radius pipes. paul was a huge help and i would recomend him and the store to any one. they say it should be no more than a week before i take delivery. the pipes will be installed and the stage 1 done at the 1k service. don't fret i'll post some tasty pics as soon as i get her home.
Congrats man! I love my standard but I don't think I can wait till the 1k service to put the pipes on.

I can't say enough good things about Waco. I'm stationed at Fort Riley and took a trip through Texas early last year and burnt my starter up (my fault-long story). They bent over backwards to get me on the road. They even had a free night ticket for a local motel that they let me have (took an extra day because of a screw up at another dealership who was suppose to next day air the starter). Service Manager (I can't think of her name at the moment) even took me out to a local bar. The parts guy ended up having to drive halfway to Beumont to pick up the starter (Beumont HD met him halfway). If and when I buy another HD, I will make a trip to Waco no matter where I'm living.

BTW, MPs do everything Cav does plus more :D Just fkng with ya :D
silverback,

yeah i am really impressed with the waco store. i went up yesterday to finish up some paper work, and paul my sales guy told me that there going to try to get all of my mods done before i pick up the bike. that is parts pending of course. they're taking stage1 and the whole nine yards. by the way i'm married to a DA cop and former mp, so i hear the comments all the time. but at least i get to ride arround in 35 tons of fun.

Is Paul the grey beard that works in sales? That kind of impressed me too. Looks like they kept an old timer from their old store.

Actually, If I had it to do over again I probably would have tried to go armor or infantry. Actually, I probably would have went Marines--they seem like they have to put up with less bull shat with non-warfighting training, property, etc. They focus on combat--the way that they army should.
yeah i think we're talking about the same guy....grey beard, and a good sized gut...lol. great guy though. says he's been riding for over 30 years.

trust me there's plenty of BS in the cav community too. we are as you probably know doing alot of the stuff MP's do now.....iraq speaking.
Glad you got home OK. You'll probably find that the Standard rides a little better than a Bradley.

yeah got home on the 15th, closed the deal on my bike on st patty's day. are you still here or did you go back? BTW a 2x4 would ride better than a bradley.
Returned to Falcon on the 14th
ok this wait is killin me. the weather here has been so nice. just a few more days till i can start riding. i even signed up for 2 MSF calsses, the riders edge, and the one on ft hood. bolth have prety much the same curriculium, but the one on ft hood is supposed to be an advanced course. it's been over ten years since i've ridden and as you all know there are those perrishable skills.....which i'm sure that mine are long since perrished. so a little refreshing and some quality time alone in a parking lot. i'm also looking into the dvd set....can't remember the name of the title, but i know if i do a seacrh here i'll find it. just can't wait to scratch that "itch".
hey what are you doing with my bike? just kidding, just bought the same bike and i switched out the seat witha lepera solo and the mufflers with cycle shack slip on off ebay and the bike rides and SOUNDS great. Got to have that sound. Ride safe.
Jake, let us know how that Lepera Solo seat feels after ya get a bit of time on it.
i can't believe this

yesterday i call HD of waco to check to see if they got my bike in yet, and the status of the parts that i ordered. well the pipes made it in, but the other stuff isn't there yet.....no sweat. so they thansfer me to my sales guy....he says the got my bike, but there's a glitch. i got a sinking pit in my stomach, and said "a glitch?" he says yeah....it's injected, and it's a $499 option, and that he'll call me back to see how long it's gonna take to get my carbed bike. i told him i'll be right be the phone. so while i'm waiting and steaming over $500, i decide that i wouldn't mind an injected bike. paul calls back, and i tell him that i'll take it, but on one condition.....you have to do something about the price. he says i need to talk to the manager and call me back. i told him look this is y'all's screw up. when he calls back he tells me there's nothing that he can do about the now $400 option, but the manager told him to take off 10% of all parts and labor, and 25% off the ecm flash. it sounded like a decent deal, and they were up front and honest about the mistake so i went with it.
See less See more
got her home tonight......i'm so friggin stoked. they got the pipes put on and the ECM flashed before i picked her up too. hell i was in such a groove when i picked her up i put nearly 100 miles on her coming home, and it's right at 60 door to door from my house to the dealr in waco. i'll get some pics tomorrow and get them up in the next day or two.
Sounds great, You'll be glad you got the EFI
