Yeah you're sick. Me too! I'm gonna get one of them front fenders one of these days. As for bags,I have big All American Rider bags. Though not as stylish, they hold a bunch.
This is even more sick...

...I started looking through the H-D parts catalog and find out they make a 'Dyna' fender kit for the Fat Boy. ^rolleyez^
I wonder if it'll hold the 200mm wheel/tire combo.
They even show the 'King/Queen' style seat. Does THAT fit, too?
Don't tell me I've got more pain and suffering to go through before I 'make up my mind'...
OK, I do. I know it.

Sure is a fine sickness!

I saw it somewhere in cyberspace and copped the pix.
Now I can't remember where I saw it, but it is haunting me with its evil beauty.
If YOU know how to find the article from whence the pictures came, please post about it.

I found a link ( after a couple of hours ) that shows a similar setup as in the pix.

I'm still waiting and wanting to get my first H-D and have run the gamut from Road King to Fat Boy to V-Rod to Night Train to RoadGlide (my favorite).
My best friend has a Dyna Wide Glide.
I found the pix of the Softail Custom and started thinking about the "SOFTAIL BAGGER" pictured above.
That would put me smack dab in the middle of all the other bikes I've been drooling over, and I actually LIKE the idea...so I'm halfway there.
One of the dealer managers told me today about 'the one that makes your heart beat faster' and now I've got that feeling he's talking about.
THAT BIKE has a fantastic mix of Touring/Chopper/Style all mixed into one.

Somebody tell me how sick I am, please!
hmmm, I dunno, just doesn't look quite right to me. The hard bags seem a little too dominating for the lines of the Standard Softail, make it look out of balance......
Sheesh.
After I found out that the Softail fender fit the Fat Boy, I looked at an add that shows a Dyna with FLOORBOARDS!

I've gotta think this all through. What do I REALLY want?
For instance, I just stepped outside where it's cold and foggy, and dark.
With the Road Glide, I'd have that nice, big, fixed fairing with two headlamps and I could have the lower fairings installed...cozy!

As for the look of that Softail above, I just think it has the look of a practical and bad boy custom to it, if that's possible.
I think it would look better with the Softail Custom style seat and a sissy bar, and maybe, uh, floorboards!
It would lack that frontal protection that the Road Glide would provide, however, and that's the one thing I keep coming back to --- how NICE it would be to travel on it.

The 'custom' look of the rear fender could be adapted to the Road Glide for some $$$$, as always, but would I want to do that?
Then there's the Fat Boy with the Softail fender and those FL bags mounted like the one above...and could the FL style engine guard and lower fairings be adapted or mounted to it? would the single disc brake still be enough with the extra weight added up front? which BIG windshield would be good enough to give protection without getting nailed by the wind all the time?

You can see my dilemma, I'm sure.
I love the looks of the big front wheel; the floorboards; the fat rear tire; the Softail fender; the fixed fairing of the Road Glide; etc.
The tough part is how does one put it all together to get the motorcycle he wants?

Anybody else ever go nuts at this point trying to figure just what YOU want?
Oy.

got alittle carried away this winter.....

What started out as such simple project, sure morphed it's way into a life of it's own! I was gonna do a little pinstriping, change the wheels, maybe some head work....... well ended up with the wheels alright..... went bore, stroke, cams, heads, etc. on the motor.... scored a chrome swingarm so found no place to stop the chrome back there 'till it was all done, and decided not to pinstripe my original '03 anniversary tins soooo.bought complete new set of tins with a winged oil tank and had them painted...just got the pics of them....... start reassembling everything this week....... oh yea.... changed to a solo seat.... it's not gonna stop........but it sure is fun..she's a loooooong way from the '03 FXSTi "standard" softail I started with.......lol
