No problems yet. Only have 2700 miles on it since April. April was almost a wash because of the weather. I was planning on making a lot of changes,but the more I ride it,the better it feels. I had trouble deciding on which model to get in the beginning. But I made the right choice for me.Boise1 said:Have done a lot to mine, love the bike, no problems since new.

The bars are Arlen Ness fat bob drag bars. They are 1 1/4" bars, that I had stripped, and powdercoated. I paid through the nose for the bars, but they can be found online, for about $140.00. I should have done a google search first.

The 16" wheel conversion is rather simple. It took me awhile, because I had nothing to go off of. First, get a wheel for a Heritage. You will need to space the wheel 1/4" to the right, to center it in the forks. I used a 1/4" pulley spacer, since a 1/4" rotor spacer, does not exist. You will also need a 1 3/16" spacer, for the left side of the axle. For some reason, when spacing everything over 1/4", a 1 1/4" axle spacer did not work. You will also need longer rotor mounting bolts. And of course a new fender. Excluding the costs of the wheel and fender, which could range from a couple hundred, to a couple thousand, it only costs about $50.00. I almost forgot, I also had to space the right side of the fender, over to the left, about 3/16". I did this for free, by cutting off the mounting ears, from an old pair of sliders, filing and painting them. It is all about the details.

2003 anniversary model. nothing much besides the pipes and drag bars. but i love my bike. rides like a dream.

Ive been a lurker on this site for a while, nows is a good time to come out and say whats up.. Bought mine in Dec of 98, last year for the EVO, didnt want the TC at the time.. Upgrades are dyno 2000 ignition, S&S carb with all mods, cycle shack exhaust, EV 27 cam, head work, adjustable push rods ect... I have over 15k miles on it, last dyno run was 80.3 hp, 84.5 torque...

This is my 01. Love the bike. But, and there is always a but. Just saw the 05s today online and it looks like I will get another chance at the Softail Springer Classic. Looks cool with the black forks. Throw on some apes, lowering kit and she would be good to go. Thats the plan for now.

I bought mine in Oct 03. Just got home Sturgis and did 3000 miles on the trip. Over 8000 miles since I bought it new. Gas gauge quit working before the first gas stop on the Sturgis trip. Printed circuit board behind the taillight shorted out one night when I was at the Broken Spoke Bar in Sturgis. Other than that, no problems. Love it.
Mine is an '03 FXSTI, SE filter, V & H Big Radius Pipes, PC 3 (Still looking for the right map). Nothing much more done other than sissy bar and pegs...yet, as I'm still waiting for the smoke to clear with the wife on the original purchase $$$. But I want sooooo much more...of course. Especially a better seat. 100 anniv or stock (same crap) is not comfortable on long rides. Here's pic with the new pipes.....

Thanks, I really like the look. I've been wanting pipes since day one but couldn't decide. Then V & H came out with these and the decision was easy. They have a real nice rumble to them. One that you don't need to remove the baffles, They're loud enough in my opinion. I like that Sundowner seat also, I want something higher in the back (passenger seat) and good back support. That looks like it covers both bases.I overstated, my wife's really not Bit**in' that much. She knew what she was getting into by me buying the bike. We just had allot of expenses of late (new pool, deck, fence, shed, etc) and the Harley comes after the house stuff....sometimesrkt88403 said:
