Im not real familiar with shovelheads and I have a set of 2 front rocker boxes. One of which the oil jacket port has been welded over. Can the opposite side of that rocker box be drilled tapped and used as a rear.

It can be done,, you just need to hit the oil supply passage... stock boxes have 2 oil ports in the rear head,,, 1 faces down on the bottom rear, and one facing the front, to run an oil line to the front box, which has the oil fitting facing rearward... be careful,, hit the oil passages,, the tap size is 1/8" x 27 npt... it is easy to damage the sand cast boxes...

Are you planning o using stock type plumbing? Some guys use a Y fitting at the engine block supply, and run a separate line to each box, from the Y fitting. If you have the cylinders off you can pump it for outside oil returns now, as well...

Are you going go do it stock

Have my rocker boxes off at the moment. Both front & Rear are drilled and tapped for the Oil supply line. The front is just not drilled through.
